Leanne Pon

Owner, Director, Broker, JP (Qual), Mortgage & Commercial Broker

Leanne co-founded Savvy Home Loans in 2007 and brings over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial lending. Her journey started when Kerry Packer's investment in Wizard Home Loans inspired her to open her own franchise, all while raising six kids under nine and a teenager. Bold, hectic, and the beginning of something enduring.

As Head of Growth at Savvy, her passion lies in lifting others up, investing in her team, and ensuring every client feels genuinely cared for, whether it's a straightforward home loan or a multilayered commercial solution.

As Shakespeare said, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one" and that's Leanne in a nutshell. Practical, intuitive, and always ready with a Savvy way forward.

Outside of finance, she likes to eat (food), pray (for a never-ending weekend), love (babies, mahjong & all things under the Tuscan sun).

Derrick Pon

Owner, Director, Broker, Asset Finance

Derrick is co-founder of Savvy Home Loans and after 23 years in the industry, the best thing is (as Lawsie would say) “Keeping the dream alive” helping his original clients through all the stages of their property journey. Better yet, it gives him the warm & fuzzies to know be helping the next generation, the children of those original clients live the dream too! Better still, the third generation is coming through, although he won’t be around to help them, that’ll be up to Jarrad and the next generation of the Savvy family!

If he wasn’t in the finance game, he’d be designing & building things and windsurfing wherever there’s clear waters & strong winds!

Emma Klingner née Hawker

Senior Mortgage Broker

With more than 18 years of experience across finance and lending, Emma Klingner brings deep industry expertise and a genuine commitment to helping clients make confident property decisions.

After establishing a strong foundation with a major bank, Emma moved into mortgage broking in 2016 and has been proudly supporting clients ever since. Today, as a Senior Mortgage Broker at Savvy Home Loans, Emma works alongside her dedicated team to deliver tailored lending solutions for a wide range of clients, from First Home Buyers to experienced property investors.

Emma has extensive experience assisting self‑employed borrowers, complex lending scenarios and clients looking to build long-term through property, including SMSF lending. Her approach goes beyond simply arranging finance; she focuses on understanding each client's broader goals and helping them structure their lending in a way that supports their future plans.

Known for her calm guidance and clear communication, Emma builds long-term relationships with her clients, supporting them through every stage of their property journey with clarity, confidence, and care.

Emma is also a proud wife and mum of three, passionate about helping families create financial security and long‑term freedom. She believes the right lending strategy can open doors to opportunity, and she is dedicated to making the finance process empowering, transparent, and seamless for every client she works with.

Jarrad Pon

Customer Service Manager & Credit Analyst

Jarrad Pon didn't arrive at Savvy Home Loans by the usual route, but every step of his journey has shaped the thoughtful, committed Credit Analyst he is today, now in his second year in the finance industry. John & Paul (yes, those two Beatles) wrote and sang about the long and winding road that leads to your door, and they could well have been singing Jarrad's life story.

Jarrad holds a double degree in Accounting and International Business and spent time in sales with a major home builder, gaining exposure to property from the ground up.

Now part of the Savvy team, he supports brokers and clients through the lending journey, crunching numbers, verifying details, refining finance solutions and progressing loans to settlement with precision. With deep family ties to the business, Jarrad is here to learn every corner of it, contributing meaningfully to a legacy built on trust, integrity and growth, and excited to help clients make confident, informed decisions.

If he's not working the numbers, Jarrad will be in the gym or with the love of his life, setting up home and cooking up a storm.
